Yes I'm prone to confusion which is why I was confused when that chick said she was Richard's mother. Of course I expect changes because I can't really think of a book or series of books turned TV show that doesn't have differences. So there was some confusion when what's her name said he was her son and that he was named Owen and that he had a younger brother named Mark. What the hell? I thought my brain was broken because I certainly don't remember any of that happening but it turns out that she lied because it was like her dead son came back so I guess you can't hate the poor woman since she was one of the ones whose baby was killed courtesy of Darken Rahl because he didn't want a Seeker popping up that would heaven forbid kill him.
Who the hell is Sylvia? I guess I'm going to be saying that a lot with characters popping up that I've never heard of. Where is Addie anyway? I guess she's at home for the time being. Even a wizard has needs but hello I wasn't expecting her to try to tell him that he was the father of that guy whose name I can't think of either for that matter. I think the confusion is clouding the names of those who don't belong expect for the odd name here and there. Zedd uses magical protection so he's pretty damn sure he isn't the daddy and of course I was thinking hey he just has a daughter who happens to be Richard's mother so what's this about a son?
So they ask Kahlan who doesn't have to do the touching thing to see the truth. Apparently she's like a lie detector so they go to her. Zedd is hiding something so he asks to speak to Kahlan along which is when he revealed that he's Richard's Grandfather. Of course he doesn't want her to spill the beans. While he's at this town where no one is looking to collect a bounty on Richard's head he goes off hunting with Gavin and Matthias. It turns out that the stag was outsmarting them so they end up going west which is where Richard finds his home town. Oops that isn't good but he goes off to see if he can find out if his birth parents are still alive which is where he meets fake mom of course.
What a harsh place to live to be condemned to a beheading for simply speaking your mind about something. Richard of course doesn't like this and I'm guessing the girl isn't either because really who wants their head cut off anyway? I know I wouldn't so that would go on the list of ways i don't want to die. I guess if it was really quick where I wasn't aware of it happening would be different but this girl knew because the axe was right above her head. Why yes I'm the Seeker so of course there's fighting and Richard runs off which is how he ends up meeting fake mom whose name I remembered now. Bridget was the midwife that delivered Richard. That's what I thought when I saw her and ended up getting all confused when she said he was her son and that she named him Owen. Poor Owen is just another dead baby in that cemetery full of dead babies.
Mark doesn't like the new guy coming in since he's being sucked in by Darken Rahl's warped ways. Oh yes killing babies is for the greater good. Sure that makes all kinds of sense. Oh wait no it doesn't since that just says monster to me. Wouldn't you agree? Once again Richard gets tricked. Boy you really need to smarten up first it was a girl which is kind of understandable with her heaving bosom but what's your excuse this time? He gets locked in the cellar but Richard sets the lock on fire and escapes before Mark returns with the guards. This of course leads to all the women getting gathered up to find out who the mother of the Seeker is. Real smart move dumbass so I'm not really liking you Mark fake brother or not.
The bad guy threatens to kill all the women because they decide to support Bridget so they all call themselves the Seeker's Mother. They all get carted off to jail. If Richard doesn't turn himself in he'll make with the killer. Oh can you tell that's the bad guy? So Richard ends up making a plan with Mark who turns him in. Of course there's the whole not again Richard shouldn't you have learned your lesson by now part because he keeps getting tricked but this time Mark does end up helping along with all the other people in the village or town or whatever. They start throwing food and Mark gets his mom out. It does puzzle me because the villagers or whatever outnumber the D'harans so they could have stood up to them sooner.
