Emerson gets a message in his fortune cookie I think because that's where messages are put right so he goes downstairs to the restaurant just below his office. A familiar face shows up since Simone and Bubblegum are there. Why is a dog allowed in a restaurant? Am I the only one to wonder about that? Poor Bao met a not very good end since I'm guessing oven thingie blew up and sent a pipe through his head. Imagine his surprise when Ned made him undead and he tried to run out the door and landed on his ass. He lost a bet so of course that means some snooping is in order.
Simone is a trip so I want one of those clicking thingies she has. I'm not sure what it is but it certainly works on Emerson. So the boy got some. And Emerson had hair. Okay it was a wig but it was odd to see him with hair since I've only seen him bald much like I've only seen Montel bald too for that matter. I'm guessing it saves on having to get shampoo and conditioner and combs for that matter since all you need to do is use your soap on your head since there isn't any hair to clean.
Some guy shows up talking about Ned's parents but of course Ned has no clue where his deadbeat father is. For all he knows this dude is his father. He reveals his clue notebook to Chuck and ends up giving her the address of where his father moved to all those years ago when he decided to abandon his child and make a new family with someone else. Olive and Chuck go to check things out bringing a pie of course. Who's going to turn down free pie anyway? It turns out that Dad is gone but surprise there are twins there who are Ned's brothers and they all have matching eyebrows.
At the restaurant they are playing five card draw with food of all things. Well that is handy since they can just eat the cards but I'm not sure I'd want to eat something after all those hands were pawing everything. They gambled with I think peas or something which was just odd. I would be totally lost in that game so I'm not going to be playing that version anytime soon or ever for that matter since who in the hell plays cards with food anyway? It turns out that Dad was gambling and made a really shitty bet. Don't bet on your daughter's hand in marriage to some nerdy guy because appearances can be deceiving since he turns out to be the killer.
So once again I enjoyed this weird yet wonderful world. No Digby or the Aunts. Okay one Aunt and one Mother. I wonder if Simone will be coming back again. I think Emerson likes her even if he is a little afraid of her. She seems to take that dog with her wherever she goes. I just want to get my hands on that clicky device. Think about how handy that thing would be. Hey don't forget to put down the toilet seat click, click. Take out the garbage click, click. I also like how Olive is more involved in the cases instead of being stuck back at The Pie Hole.
