Hartland

Yes I happen to like Annie. I seem to be the girl that likes the characters what seems to be everyone else hates. Okay I didn't conduct a poll but I think I'm the oddball and this season doesn't seem to be kind to those who are named Anna. It turns out that Chase was captured by D'Harans so he was a prisoner instead of getting reunited with his family so it's a good thing Rachel wasn't with him. He escapes and finds Richard and Kahlan who are traveling alone because Zedd is off hiding the box. Talk about a really good tracker to just hunt them down like that.

Of course he wants to get to his family. Richard and Kahlan go back with him to Hartland where things are really different and guess what Michael's First Councilor so he's a big er I mean figurehead basically who conducts the prayer. Why he needs a book to say the same phrase is beyond me but whatever. Of course I wonder if he's going to stab Richard in the back after all the last time they saw each other the guy was accusing Richard of killing their father. Talk about stupid he didn't kill him. Anna turns up and I was thinking she wasn't wooed by the D'Harans who spun their web of we're all protective and the good guys. Yeah right you release a gar and shoot it to show how wonderful you are while you feed people to gars. That's real nice but it looks like Chase's family missed that fate unlike Anna's brother.

After Anna drugs the Viceroy she makes a copy of the key so she can sneak around because her brother went missing. She meets up with Richard and the others outside so they go looking in the guy's office which is where they found the list of people who were eaten. Yikes that didn't look fun and holy shit those gars were horrible. I wonder if they'll have Gratch on. There's only one way to find out and that would be to continue working. They tell Michael what's going on and he didn't know about the gars so he agrees to help them. I was suspicious because he does betray him in the book but this isn't the book and this would be a different sitch entirely.

The plan was to distract the Viceroy who had fallen in love with Anna but sadly her feminine wiles just weren't enough for him to continue once he heard the bell ringing. She even went so far as to stab the guy. Maybe she should have picked something up and hit him over the head or I don't know bring more of that knockout stuff that she slipped into his glass. He calls the guards so things aren't looking good for her at all. Michael chickens out when he sees the Viceroy and I have to wonder if he would have done it. He didn't point out Richard which was a good sign. He tells them about Anna so they go to rescue her.

Michael warns them to leave because they are planning to close the boundary so they can kill Richard and also it traps him and away from Darken Rahl so no killing of him. They built this arch thing that keeps it open. I was wondering about that after Kahlan made that hole if it would close up or what. So the Viceroy is off to destroy the arch and Michael comes up to him while the others are following. Must be nice to be as fast as a horse which these people seem to be. Michael proves himself to be one of the good guys and there's a fight. He ends up getting stabbed and dies which was sad but at least he died a hero and he did save Richard's life.

Just as Anna was about to be killed by the Viceroy who wasn't looking at her very lovingly had a knife to her throat. She should have had another weapon because she was a bit slow with the crossbow. I guess getting stabbed tends to make a guy cranky. Kahlan steps in and does her thing so now he's under her control. She gave him orders to follow Anna's wishes like they were her own. The message was sent that Richard was killed and Chase found out where his family is. They left and the arch was destroyed so Richard can never go home again and neither can Chase but of course the more important thing would be reuniting with his family.
