Overslept

Tara walked over to the table where Willow was sitting in front of her laptop. She touched Willow's should and said, "What are you looking at?"

Willow smiled and looked back at Tara.

"Halloween costumes."

"Um it was Halloween yesterday."

Willow turned around in her chair so she could look at Tara.

"I know it was the strangest thing I wake up find out that yesterday wasn't today and tomorrow was today."

Willow told Tara about some of the weirdness that went on during other Halloweens so it was a bit of a surprise to see her looking at costumes especially a day late.

"Why don't we celebrate it a day later or maybe get a jump on next year?"

Tara just raised an eyebrow at Willow.

"Shouldn't we be worried about you waking up after sleeping for twenty-four hours straight. I tried yelling and Spike suggested throwing candles for some strange reason."

Tara didn't know why Spike suggested it but she might have given it a try if she hadn't woken up when she did.

"So you want us to dress up even though it's a day late?"

"Why not? I'll just make sure I can kick a little butt in case I turn into my costume."

Tara looked at the screen.

"You'd make a hot Alice In Wonderland."

Willow looked at Tara.

"But she's not very fighty."

"Ooh I could be the white rabbit late for a very important date."

Tara looked around.

"No R word Anya's upstairs."

"Oops.

Willow turned back to the computer and typed something in the search box.

"How about Xena and Callisto? You'd look so hot in that outfit?"

Tara could feel her face heating up at the thought of wearing such a skimpy outfit.

"Maybe mortal enemies isn't such a good idea."

Willow looked at Tara and smiled.

"How about Gabrielle instead? Ooh how about we wear what they wore in Devi. We could get wigs or I'd get a wig. Your hair is close enough. I'll get a wig or maybe I could dye my hair."

"Take a breath."

"I'm just so excited about us dressing up."

Tara still wondered why Willow had slept through Halloween. It wasn't unusual in this town for some kind of spell to go wrong and often it was Willow doing the spell. She'd been worried about how often Willow was using magic.

"Why don't we just watch a couple scary movies instead? We could have some popcorn and get all cozy on the couch."

"And cover each others eyes during the scary parts?"

Tara nodded.
