Moonlight Dwelling

Sami held the peppermill.

"I do have one Rafe and you're free to use it."

Rafe grabbed the peppermill and stared at it for a while before looking back at Sami wondering if he should tell her about it.

"One day I'll get around to fixing it. I guess I can tell you about the peppermill."

"So there's a story behind it?"

"Yes there is."

Sami didn't want to ask if it was about Emily so she just sat back on the couch and waited for Rafe to tell her.

"When I was about ten my Grandmother gave me this peppermill."

Sami thought he was joking but he looked completely serious so she didn't say a word.

"She told me it would help me meet the woman of my dreams so I always kept it with me. When I moved I decided to sell some of my things and Ari sold the peppermill."

"Ive never heard that about a pepermill."

"I'm sure you think it sounds nuts. Hell I'd think the same thing myself if I didn't know my Grandmother. She was married to my Grandfather for sixty-five years. So I was upset when Ari sold it. I thought I'd never see again. It was just by chance that I was taking a walk and found a garage sale. I thought I'd look around and found it. Sure it's a peppermill but I looked at it and it was the same one. On the bottom are my grandparents initials."

Rafe handed the peppermill to Sami who looked on the bottom and sure enough she saw the initials.

"So I bought it and I plan on keeping it because it worked for them."

"When did you find it?"

"It was right before I was assigned to guard you at the Safe House."

"We should keep this in a special place since it's a symbol of our love."

"Are you sure you don't want to hide it away like my painting."

"Painting? That doesn't qualify as art but this peppermill is special."

"What's wrong with my taste?"

Sami just smiled and set the peppermill down before walking over to Rafe. She wrapped her arms around him and they melted into a kiss.
