Reckoning

Darken Rahl is worried after all Richard has the boxes and the book so he decides to send Mord Sith after him. Hey where's Denna? Cara shows up. Hello they can fly and turn into these creatures. I'm not sure what you'd call them since they didn't do this in the books but it was kinda cool and it appears that Darken Rahl can do it too? Hey I wonder if that means Richard can too since they are related. The relationship is still up in the air since he could have been telling the truth about them being brothers although I do wonder why Jennsen never mentioned it instead of father and son. The whole father and son thing would have been silly after all look at the two guys. Brothers makes more sense.

Kahlan isn't thrilled about confessing Richard but this is the only way to do it. So they do their thing and the Mord Sith come. Zedd has a senior moment since he forgot that magic and Mord Sith are unmixy things so his wizard's fire was turned back on him and he was no more. Richard was attacked by a Mord Sith and whoosh he's gone too leaving only Kahlan behind who gets captured. I'll admit that I like the Rada'Han that he changed for Kahlan although I guess that really doesn't matter when you can't use your magic. He wants to marry her and have a Confessor child. Oops that isn't good and things are even more not good when the baby turns out to be a she. I'm sure she was just as surprised as Piper was when she had Wyatt instead of Melinda.

She gets sent to the dungeon and soon she has company since Shota gets tossed down there. She seemed to have forgotten about that pesky no magic against Mord Sith thing too. What about the kingdom right by Shota with the Queen that could turn into that monster? I guess she was either killed or taken out of the way. Shota tells her about Richard being in the future since he was sent forward in time and isn't dead after all. The future looks pretty bleak or maybe the sun just doesn't shine as brightly. She tells Kahlan how Richard could travel back with the help of a Confessor, a Mord Sith and her agiel at the right location. Sure no problem.

Kahlan goes to Darken Rahl wanting to protect those who fought against him and giving some demands of her own before Darken Rahl mentions wanting to take her as his wife. I guess he likes red although I have to say I loved that dress Kahlan was wearing. She figures she's fine and has Alice help her out because she'll need to be around to make sure Kahlan's daughter is able to help Richard in the future get back to the past and undo this mess. Yes the time travel thing does get tricky if you think about it so I'll avoid doing that because I don't feel like having a headache. But oops the baby turns out to be a boy.

Of course she suspects Darken Rahl of doing something after all her sister had a boy and it is supposed to be something pretty damn rare. So she wants to kill the baby and get pregnant again but he doesn't like that idea. Here's a tip Darken don't pinch the baby if you're not used to holding a baby since they really don't like that. He did that to get to Kahlan and she hopes that she can be a good influence on the kid. I am puzzled though by the blonde hair. Where did that come from? Two people with dark hair shouldn't end up with a blonde kid? He's about six or seven I don't know and there's word that he's going to be sent to Ayindril to study so Kahlan has to make her move to prepare him.

Color her shocked and okay me too when this little boy comes in giving Nicholas and hey deja vu moment. Isn't that the name of the Dream Walker? He gives Nicholas a finger as in his own finger because Nicholas got pissed at his little friend Ethan. He was confessed and possibly his first confessed maybe. So he was well on his way to being a monster. He could compare notes with the creepy little girl version of Lilith after all they are both blondes not to mention evil and creepy.

So after that Kahlan knows she's going to have to kill him. That doesn't work out very well and color me not surprised when Nicholas declares he wants to kill Mom. Of course Darken Rahl had no clue that he was going to be next since one of his men was confessed and stabbed him in the back. Aw isn't that a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that your little boy just murdered you? Were you a proud Papa Darken at that moment as your son stood by the sarcophagus of his mother?

Richard figures out that something is wrong and when he comes across the men that attacked him when he was fighting Cara he finds out that it's sixty years in the future. No wonder those men were fighting both him and the Mord Sith. It turns out that Cara is the last Mord Sith standing. They declare a truce while they're on a mission to kill the Master which is Nicholas and boy did he grow up ugly. Okay he's evil which I'm sure we're aware of but that doesn't mean he can't be hot too since that would make it better than some creepy bald dude not to mention it just makes me think of Jagang.

Richard finds Shota who isn't looking very good because the Rada'Han doesn't let her look her best. They come up with a plan and she goes off to the Master to be confessed. Richard gets the boxes that he'd buried although how he had them puzzles me but this would be some of that time travel thinking that I don't want to get sucked up into right? The Master comes and everything is set up and the Master thinks everything is going to be fine but oops the plan to have Richard under his thumb doesn't work and underestimating a Mord Sith isn't a good thing so the two go back to their time.

Cara helps fight so the original plan to have Kahlan confess him and use the boxes and power of Orden to stop Rahl works perfectly. He comes and hello he does that flying thing too. He ends up getting cooled in a pretty cool way complete with these green flames. Ding dong the monster is dead. Well he probably will be back since he does show up again in the book. Cara takes over for all of the Mord Sith after all she does know what happens when Darken Rahl takes over and that's not good for them. I guess they don't have the bond thing like they do in the book. They take off to who knows where leaving the three behind and hooray Zedd isn't dead.

Aw I totally called it when I said he was home which is what Richard said after Kahlan said he could go home. Shut up but there might have been a few teary moments. They seem to have forgotten that they can now be together. I guess he's just so relieved to have her not dead after his trip to the future when she was dead and hey he even turned down Cara. I guess they need a little time to figure that part out now because she did confess him and he didn't turn into a mindless drone. Maybe Zedd should clue them in and head off somewhere for a while. He could go see Adie.
