Oh the look on that Mord Sith's face is just amusing. These two didn't say a word and hell that one on the left does bear a striking resemblance to Terri Hatcher. Do I smell a potentially weird plot bunny cooking? Well at least now it makes sense why Richard would have his mouth open when he goes into the library. Hell I think my mouth opened up too since those shelves were so high which sends any book slut into squeals of joy except I can't read the language so maybe I just come off like a total idiot.

Richard, Kahlan, and Zedd go to the library where the librarian Lydia is continuing her husband's work of finding the last remaining copy of the Book Of Counted Shadows. I did think they just let that slip away when it got destroyed in the first episode. Anyhoo before she's able to solve the last riddle her son turns up missing. Aidan is a bit of a scam artist since he's out on the streets begging for money. The local goons grab him and rob him but hey he robs them back. That's what you get for calling someone a maggot. It did give me a Buffy moment since I'm just strange but I'm pretty sure Kennedy called the other potentials maggots during training.

The Brother at the library turns out to be an ally of the wizards so after bowing and sorry Zedd but I'm not going to bow for you because you scarred me with that image of you naked holding a chicken so I'll just go with a head nod in greeting you tells them where Livia lives. They go to her place and Richard agrees to find her son. Oh Kahlan that was a bit cold when you implied that there were better things to do than finding the boy. Mom ends up disappearing when she goes to get her shawl. She ends up in a painting along with her son Aidan. It turns out that James who is totally in love with a clueless Livia who just lost her husband at the pointy end of a D'Haran sword learned how to do magic with painting which allowed him to enchant a painting.

Richard thinks the disappearance might have something to do with Aidan so he heads off to see if he can find the kid but hello the library disappears. James put the library into the painting and yes it was a nice place and it would be a great place for Kahlan and Richard to have some alone time but oops when James transported the library he brought everyone inside which isn't good since some soldiers were inside too and oopsie bad side effect would be Zedd not having his magic. James of course has his own agenda but he isn't evil since he just wants the girl to notice him. Richard gets sent inside the painting which leads to some fighting. They are able to figure out the last clue and find the book so all is good.

One little fly in the ointment is James who was still around when Kahlan came back to his place to find him still there instead of inside the painting where he needed to be so he could paint everyone out. Instead of going inside he puts Kahlan inside leaving the poor Brother defenseless. He next goes in himself and he tells the guy to hide the painting but hello the thug who was after Kahlan mentions the painter to Rahl before he snaps his neck. Well Rahl didn't lie because he won't have to worry about anything seeing as he's dead and all. They catch him and he sees the guy's necklace. Maybe he should be wearing that underneath his robes so someone like Darken Rahl doesn't see it.

He finds the painting but when he's about to set it on fire the Brother tries to stop him. Of course he couldn't do anything so he just ends up meeting the pointy end of a sword. He does mention the book which stops Darken Rahl but he decides killing the Seeker is more important than the book. He sets it on fire which isn't good. James wanted to have everyone live in the painting which is sweet but not the right way to go about things because the painting could be found even if Darken Rahl could have been found or destroyed at any time which wouldn't be good for those inside just like on that episode of Charmed.

Zedd and Lydia along with Aidan go to the library to hunt down the books he studied but they really don't have the time to become painters which would allow them to paint themselves out. James shows that he isn't a bad guy because he did sacrifice himself to save the others. They all went to the library but there wasn't time for James so he ended up dying painting them out. Poor guy. Why couldn't he just tell the girl he liked her and see if it went anywhere instead of trapping her inside a painting? They all leave to avoid getting captured and manage to get away. So now the book is in their hands but oh crap now they need the boxes again.
