"I've seen vampire venom work miracles but there are conditions that even venom cannot overcome."

Carlisle hugged Bella and stroked her hair hoping that it would work. He didn't want to completely dash her hopes but a bite on the ass by a Flange alwys tended to be fatal. The venom could work though so it was better than doing nothing waiting for him to die.
